Barry Lynn Hughey, Sr.

<p>Barry Lynn Hughey Sr., 78, of Chamois, passed away on Friday, May 12, 2023. He was born on March 20, 1945; a son of the late Herbert and Geraldine (Crum) Hughey in Kansas City, Kansas. He was united in marriage to Beverly Presley on November 2, 1963 in Muncie, Kansas.</p><p><br></p><p>Barry attended Tuner High School in Turner, Kansas. For all of his life, Barry was a hard worker. He would pour concrete during the day, and worked as a tireman for Santa Fe at night. He then went to work for Doolittle Trailers as a trailer tech. Barry loved working on cars, to which he shared his talents with his sons. He enjoyed wood working, karaoke, and visits to Branson. He took a lot of motorcycle trips with his wife, Bev, and had a great sense of humor. He leaves behind a family that will miss him very much, along with his furry companion, Crackers.</p><p><br></p><p>He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years: Bev; children: Lynny Hughey (Shelley), Cheryl Porter (Todd), Chad Hughey (Brandy Higginbotham), and Lance Hughey (Tammy McCowan); grandchildren: Tyler, Kindra, Ryan, Haley, Steven, Misty, Dustin, Tiffany, Annie, Cody, Cayli, Chloe and Heidi; great-grandchildren: Zakry, Britney, Ian, Suhvanna, Bryson, Harper, Hayden, Iris, Mason, Lincoln, Carter, Harper, Violet and Rainey; and siblings: Martin Hughey (Rachel), Karla Campbell, Lee Hughey (Carol) and Vicki Criner. He was preceded in death by his parents; twin brother: Larry Hughey; young daughter: Jodi Sue Hughey; and brother-in-law: Roy Criner</p><p><br></p><p>Arrangements are under the direction of Millard Family Chapels, 107 South Market Street, Chamois, MO 65024 (573) 763-5658.
