Michael Eugene Hamlin

MICHAEL EUGUNE HAMLIN, JR.,

44, of Cass City died following complications from brain cancer Wednesday, May 10, 2023 in Ascension St. Mary’s Hospital of Saginaw. He was born December 12, 1978 in Leesburg, FL to Michael Eugene and Kathy Ann (Clendenney) Hamlin, Sr. He married Andrena Renee Wright on May 28, 2004 in Battle Creek.

Michael moved to Michigan, where he met Andrena, to care for his mother and his sister. Together, he and Andrena moved to Indiana where he worked for the recreational vehicle industry. Years later, they and their sons moved back to Michigan. From that point on, Michael worked as a stay-at-home dad. He was a great father to his sons and was so very proud of them. He was a loving, caring husband and always found a way to make his wife laugh. Michael had a tremendous sense of humor, was an excellent jokester, and always quick with a comeback. He exhibited a respectful sense of Southern hospitality and manners. His son Conner says his dad’s favorite color was blue. Jacob remembers his dad’s favorite car, a 1979 dark brown Chevy Camaro.

Michael is survived by his wife, Andrena; sons: Jacob Michael Hamlin, Conner Paul Hamlin; his sister, Monica (Dustin) Alberts of Elkhart, IN; many relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his mother, Kathy Ann Rich.

Respecting Michael’s wishes, no services are planned at this time. Memorials may be made to his family, in care of Andrena Hamlin, to be used at their discretion.
