Millinocket – Barry P. Legassey, 75, passed away Saturday, May 6, 2023 at home in Millinocket. He was born December 25, 1947 in Millinocket, the son of Robert and Cecile (Pinette) Legassey.

Barry grew up in Millinocket and attended St. Martin of Tours School and graduated from UMaine Farmington. He worked at Great Northern Paper Company his entire career until it closed, when he retired. Barry loved daytripping to coast, especially Bar Harbor, and around Maine. Being a Christmas baby, he always looked forward to the holidays and collecting Santa figurines.

Barry is survived by his wife of 38 years, Rose (Pelkey) Legassey; siblings Cynthia (Gene) Martin and Jammey (Lillian) Legassey; a special niece Debbie (David) Bradford; and many in laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, too numerous to list. In addition to his parents, Barry is predeceased by a brother, Ronald Legassey.

Graveside services will be held 2 PM Thursday, May 25 at the Millinocket Cemetery. Arrangements are by Lamson Funeral Home, Millinocket. Services will be livestreamed and may be viewed, and messages of condolence expressed, at Barry’s Book of Memories at www.lamsonfh.com.
