<p>Roger D. Fuerstenberg, 78, of Davenport, Iowa and formerly from Waverly died on May 1, 2023, at the Ridgecrest Village in Davenport.</p><p><br></p><p>Roger Dean Fuerstenberg was born on February 15, 1945, the son of Wendell and Eileen (Iserman) Fuerstenberg in Waverly, Iowa. He graduated from Waverly High School in 1963 and from Wartburg College in 1967. Following his education, he taught school in Manley, Iowa. Roger was drafted during the Vietnam War and served in Alaska for two years. Upon his discharge, he was a teacher and in Administration for the Davenport School District for over 35 years.</p><p><br></p><p>He enjoyed plants, cooking and collecting art.</p><p><br></p><p>Survivors are his two sisters, Annette (Del) Petersen of Versailles, Kentucky and Wendy Gilbert of Keokuk, Iowa; brother, Ronald (Jeanne) Fuerstenberg of Custer, South Dakota and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Jerald and brother-in-law, Harold Gilbert.</p><p><br></p><p>Graveside services will be held on Friday, May 5, 2023 at 1:00 pm at the Harlington Cemetery in Waverly with Pastor Mark Anderson from St. Paul’s Lutheran Church & School officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday starting at 12 Noon until the graveside time at the Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home in Waverly. Memorials can be directed to the Fuerstenberg family for a later designation in Roger’s name.
