Kathryn “Kathy” Mary Petterson, age 70, died Wednesday April 26, 2023, in Lewistown, Montana. Kathy was born in Williston, North Dakota on June 13, 1952, to Francis O. and Donna C. (Vader) Rosenberg.

Kathy received her education and graduated from Billings High School in 1971. After high school she attended business school. Kathy found her life partner, James “Jim” Earl Petterson, Jr., in which they were united in marriage April 17, 1981, in Jackson Hole WY. Kathy and Jim lived in Harlowton until they moved to Whiteman Air Force base in Johnson County Missouri. Kathy’s two children Melissa and Michael kept her busy as a stay-at-home mom. Although Kathy spent most of her time caring for her children, she did find time to get her realtor license and worked as a realtor for many years. Kathy was a dedicated member of the American Legion Auxiliary, serving as a Department President for the State of Missouri. Kathy also served on the National Executive Committee for the American Legion Auxiliary.

A reunion in Heaven occurred with loved ones who preceded her in death; her husband, Jim; her parents, Doc and Donna Rosenberg; and her brother, John Rosenberg.

She is survived by her daughter, Melissa Petterson of Harlowton; son, Michael Petterson and his wife Roxanne of Sedalia, Missouri; one “and only” grandson, Nolan; her brother, Jim Rosenberg and his wife Lynn of Harlowton. Kathy also had many nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
