<p>Rodger Lyle Henke of Beaver Crossing died Thursday, April 27th, 2023, at the Sunrise Country Manor, rural Milford at the age of 79 years. </p><p>Rodger was born on December 31st, 1943, in Lincoln, Nebraska to the parents of Lyle V. and Lorayne E. (Pierce) Henke. </p><p>On April 13th, 1991, Rodger married Sharry (Vegas) in rural Milford Nebraska. </p><p>Rodger had worked for the local telephone company as a repair serviceman for many years. </p><p>Rodger was a member of the Sons of the American Legion in Beaver Crossing, Thornridge Golfcourse, and Beaver Crossing United Methodist Church. </p><p>Rodger enjoyed golfing, going to the casinos, fishing, camping, and all sports in general. He also enjoyed watching good old western movies. In his spare time, he enjoyed wood working and building many crafting work items. </p><p>Rodger enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. </p><p>Survivors include his wife Sharry Henke of Beaver Crossing, NE; Children Schawn and husband Eric Kellogg of Littleton, CO, Shani Jones of Denver, CO, Deanna Henke of Lincoln, NE, Jody Brauer of Lincoln, NE, Shawna Henke of Thornton, CO; two stepchildren Todd Vegas of Milford, NE and Kellie Hill of Jerseyville, IL. Also survived by 17 grandchildren: Chaise Vegas (Jill), Brittiny Vegas- Gengenbach (Adam), Lexi Anderzhon (Kurt), Trey Geiger, Shayne Hill, Taylor Hill (Erica), Dillon Hill, Sheridan Rulo (Stephen), Hillary Morgan (Robbie), T.J. Jones, Juli Jones, Ethan Kellogg (Teresa), Evan Kellogg (Ashley), Jill Kellogg, Lee James (Caitlin), Jennifer James, and R.J. Brauer; 17 great grandchildren, two brothers, Kevin and wife Yvonne Henke of Lexington, KY, and Dwight and wife Diane Henke of Beaver Crossing, NE. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. </p><p>Rodger is preceded in death by his parents and a grandson Ryan Scott Adams- Chapman. </p><p>Memorials are suggested to Beaver Crossing Fire and Rescue, the Beaver Crossing United Methodist Church, or the Sons of American Legion. </p><p>Visitations will be held Monday, May 1st, from 1-5 pm at the Lauber Funeral Home in Milford, with visitations to continue at the Beaver Crossing United Methodist Church from 6-8 pm </p><p>Services will be held Tuesday, May 2nd, at 10:30 am at the Beaver Crossing Methodist Church. </p><p>Interment will be held at the Beaver Crossing Cemetery. </p>Obituary
