Auburn - Paul Simoneau, 73, passed away on April 20, 2023, reuniting with his true love and late wife, Yvonne, who surely asked for a back rub right away. His family fondly remembers his playful, childlike spirit. He loved to tease those closest to him, a sign of his quick wit and affection. His grandchildren remember him cheating at go-fish and winking his baby blue eyes anytime he got caught. He was always ready to share stories and talk for hours if you’d listen. And he made the best grilled cheeseburgers; just ask his grandkids.

A true Mainer, he ran several small businesses in the South Paris area and made friends with every neighbor. He spent many days road-tripping with Yvonne, sometimes with a few grandkids in tow, usually in a big camper. He loved old classic cars, Swedish fish, black licorice, and bartering for the best possible deals. He lived a full and grateful life.

Paul is peacefully joining his wife, Yvonne; his sister Norma Partee; his stepchildren, Trina Piirainen, Pam Piirainen, and Steve Piiranen; and his grandson, Jacob Poynter. He’s survived by his sisters, Rachel Cloutier, Suzette Field, Pauline Curran, Lorraine Denonville, and Beverly Norton; his children, Greg Simoneau, Kristine Simoneau, and Angela Estabrooks; his stepchildren, Ed Piirainen and Troy Piiraiinen; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
