Ronald Michael Banovich Sr.

<p>Norway – Ronald Michael Banovich Sr, age 82, passed away on Saturday, April 22, 2023, at home with his loving family by his side. He was born June 29, 1940, in Blue Island, Illinois, a son of the late Rudolph and Dorothy (Ebert) Banovich. He attended Thornton High School and Thornton Community College in Harvey, IL. He proudly served the United States Army for 2 years.</p><p>He married the love of his life Shirley Wilson in 1993, and they had 29 years of marriage before his passing. He worked at Modern Drop Forge in Blue Island, Illinois for over 30 years where he then retired to Apopka, FL, and then moved to Norway, Maine in 2004 to be near his daughter. He was also scout for the Cleveland Indians. He loved fishing, taking care of the lawn, cleaning his car, and watching sports.</p><p>He was predeceased by his loving parents Rudolph and Dorothy Banovich, his sister Patricia Cistaro, and his son Ronald Michael Banovich Jr.</p><p>He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife Shirley, his daughter Renee Banovich, (Sherwood Palmer) of Norway, ME; his grandsons: Richard Steele (Katrina) of Norway, ME, Scotty Steele of Cape Elizabeth ME, Ryan Steele (Megan) of Grand Blanc, MI and Tyler Banovich of Midlothian, IL; his granddaughters: Tiffany Steele of Grand Blanc, MI and Lindsey Banovich of Midlothian, IL; his great grandchildren: Richard, Jayden, Rowin, Spencer, Anthony, Noah, Benjamin, Stephen, Jackson, Gunner, Levi, Lucia, and Jenna, Cody (Brittany); his brothers Rudolph (Nina) of Richton Park, IL, and Rory (Karen) of Colorado Springs, CO. along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.</p><p>The family would like to thank the Androscoggin Home Health Care and Hospice for the wonderful support it showed the family at this most difficult time.</p><p>A Celebration of life will take place on Thursday, April 27, 2023, from 5:00-8:00pm at the Chandler Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 45 Main St., South Paris, with military honors. Norway – Ronald Michael Banovich Sr, age 82, passed away on Saturday, April 22, 2023, at home with his loving family by his side. He was born June 29, 1940, in Blue Island, Illinois, a son of the late Rudolph and Dorothy (Ebert) Banovich. He attended Thornton High School and Thornton Community College in Harvey, IL.
