Obituary
Daniel J Chavez Sr, born April 16, 1949, a resident of Belen, and formally from San Jose, passed away on April 6, 2023. He is survived by his last sibling, his sister, Carmen Gutierrez. He is joining his Son, Brothers and Sisters in Heaven; Daniel J Chavez Jr.,Erlinda Lopez, Viola Chavez, Lupe Duran, Vidal Chavez, Luz Chavez, Leo Montoya, and Vickie Jojola. Danny was well known and loved by all who crossed his path. Family, friends and many others knew him as "Astro" and "Uncle Taco" and would greet him anywhere he went. Danny had a heart like no other. If someone needed help in anyway he was there in a flash. Whether you were a family member, friend or even a stranger, he couldn't say no. He loved to spend his time going for a cruise to visit friends and family and helping around the house in anyway he could. He also loved building his famous dog houses in his free time. He had a soul like no other, his memories will always be cherished and never forgotten. "God saw you getting tired, and a cure was not to be found; so he put his arms around you and whispered, "come to me" with tearful eyes we watched you, and saw you pass away; although we loved you dearly, we could not make you stay. A golden heart stopped beating, hard-working hands to rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us, he only takes the best." Services for Daniel will take place on Tuesday, April 18, at Noblin Funeral Service Belen Chapel beginning with a visitation at 10:00 am, followed by a Funeral Service at 11:00 am. Daniel will then be laid to rest at the Los Padilla's Cemetery in Albuquerque. Arrangements are being handled by the caring professionals at the Noblin Funeral Service Belen Chapel, 418 W. Reinken Ave., (505)864-4448, where an online guest register is available at www.noblin.com.
