Ronald was born in Ithaca, New York In the Tompkins County Memorial Hospital and was the sixth of seven children born to June Barnes Moore and Kenneth Moore on Sunday, December 22, 1957.


During his early life he was baptized into the Virgil Methodist Church and in 1974 the family joined in fellowship with the Burdett Presbyterian Church. He attended Watkins Glen High school and worked many jobs beginning in the 7th grade with his father in the family business and he also did yard work for most of his high school years. Although he was a hard worker, he also loved football, basketball and softball. When his school years were completed in 1976 he continued working and eventually was employed as a part time bartender when he was older right up to enlisting in the U. S. Army.


Ronald’s Military Career began August 26, 1977 when he enlisted as a Combat Engineer. As he advanced in his career, he served in numerous leadership positions including: Squad Leader and Platoon, Drill and First Sergeant. He also served seven (7) years in Foreign Service.


Although he was a dedicated Non-Commissioned Officer, he declined having his records reviewed by the Sergeant Majors Selection Board because his desire was now to spend more time with his family.


His Military Service and Career spanned 22 years of devoted service to his country. His Military career ended when he retired March 27, 2000. During his Military years, Ronald met and married Janice Lockhart Brewer and their union lasted 42 years and 3 months. Their marriage was blessed with 3 children, Prentiss L. Brewer, Justin David and Ashley Jordan Moore.


After his retirement Ronald became a JROTC Instructor at R.L. Paschal High School in Forth Worth, TX in May of 2000. Shortly after beginning his career as a JROTC Instructor he received his Associate Degree from Columbia College in Missouri. He taught for 16 years, retiring in 2016 enjoying life with his family until his passing on Friday, March 31, 2023.


Ronald is now reunited with his parents; June Barnes Moore and Kenneth Moore, brother; George Moore, sisters; Julia Johnson and Pam Powell who preceded him in death.


Ronald leaves as keepers of his memories his devoted and loving wife; Janice Moore, children; Prentiss L. Brewer, Justin D. Moore and Ashley J. Moore, sister; Melinda Moore (Kevin Pierce) of Watkins Glenn, NY; grandchildren: Janayah Davis of McKinney, TX, Kaelah Jones (Kernard) of Houston, TX and Brianna Brewer of The Colony, TX and great-grandson Kadence Jones. He also leaves to cherish his memories numerous Family members, In-Laws, and Friends. Also brothers; David Moore (Mary) of Ithaca, NY and Dennis Moore (Shari) of Watkins Glenn, NY.
