In Loving Memory of
Mrs. Roberta Wharton
(nee MacVittie)
August 2, 1929 – March 31, 2023

Surrounded by her family, Roberta passed away on Friday, March 31, 2023 at the Lady Minto hospital in Cochrane at the age of 93. She will be deeply missed by her children John (Wendy) Lecours, Barbara Lecours Lefebvre, Rob (Anne Wright) Lecours, Lori Girard, Andrew (Jeanne) Wharton, Judy (Kevin Lehman) Wharton, Paul (Sharon) Wharton and Sandra (Rick) Rochon.

She was the beloved grandmother of 14 grandchildren and great-grandmother of 15.

Roberta will be missed by her sister Margaret Konopelky as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Predeceased by her first husband René Lecours, her second husband Earl ‘’Kitchie’’ Wharton, her parents Earl and Kathleen (nee Revels) MacVittie, her sister Betty Ann (Cliff) Lafleur and her brother-in-law Roger Konopelky.

Roberta loved her children. She enjoyed spending her time doing puzzles or knitting for her family.  Cheering on her favorite teams, The Toronto Maple Leafs and Blue Jays was time well spent for her.  She loved the game of hockey and spent over 50 years supporting Cochrane Minor Hockey and the Cochrane Crunch. She was one strong willed stoic mother who will be missed deeply.

As per Roberta’s wishes, a celebration of life will be held at the later date.
