In loving memory of Jacqueline Christie (nee Yates), 79 years of age, who passed away in the early hours of March 28th 2023 at Extendicare Falconbridge in Sudbury. She was born in Walton-on-Thames, England to the late Jack and Audrey Yates (nee Hartley). Jacqueline grew up in Powassan, Ontario and raised a family and pursued her career in teaching in North York, Ontario, finally retiring to Cobourg, Ontario with her husband John Christie.

She will be lovingly remembered by her children Robyn Christie and Tyler (Gillian) Christie and her granddaughter Audrey Christie. She is survived by her spouse, John Christie and siblings Gary Yates (Lorna Ryan), Karen (Gordon) Murphy, Elizabeth (Jim) Giancola, sister-in-law Diane (Terry) Mason and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Jacqueline was also deeply loved by her closest friends Madeleine Thibault-Smith and Janice Saarimaki.

A special thank you to Dr. Mary Olsten who’s care and support during her initial months in Sudbury meant the world. We extend our profound gratitude to the staff at Extendicare Falconbridge especially Sue, Judy, Cathy, Victoria, Tracy, Mindy, Keith, and everyone else who helped her to find moments of joy during her struggle with dementia.

A Celebration of Jacqueline’s Life will take place at later date.
