<p>Phyllis Ann Shelton, 82, passed away Wednesday, March 29, 2023. </p><p>A celebration of her life will be held at 11:30 am on Monday, April 3, 2023, in the sanctuary of First Baptist Church of Amarillo with Pastor Corky Holland officiating.&nbsp; The family will receive friends from 2-4 pm on Sunday, April 2, 2023, at Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger. </p><p>Phyllis was born June 16, 1940, in Elk City, Oklahoma to Jesse Leroy Payne and Mary Evelyn Wilder Payne.&nbsp; She married Royce Wendell Shelton on July 30, 1993, in Borger.&nbsp; Phyllis was an extremely talented cook who loved to decorate and entertain.&nbsp; Playing cards was always a favorite pastime, especially playing bridge, but she was always up for a shopping trip, on the quest for a bargain.&nbsp; A gifted pianist, Phyllis honored, served, and worshiped through her gift of music.&nbsp; She was a church pianist for over 40 years.&nbsp; Nothing brought more joy to her life than her family. &nbsp;&nbsp; </p><p>She is preceded in death by her parents, Leroy and Evelyn Payne; and grandson, Jeremy Gray. </p><p>Survivors include her husband, Royce Shelton of Amarillo; children, Donnie Allen of Luther, Oklahoma, Dana Rodriguez and Jamie Garcia of Borger, Darin Allen and wife Edie of Amarillo, John Allen of Phoenix, Jennifer Helms and husband Chris of Amarillo; six grandchildren, Connie Rodriguez, Christian Rodriguez, Ben Allen and wife Shelby, Madi Nguyen and husband Bill, Hudson Helms, Stella Grace Helms; nine great grandchildren with one on the way; sister, Marilyn Jo Daves and husband Charlie of Melissa, Texas; and nephew, Greg Daves and wife Lauren of Van Alstyne, Texas. </p>
