<p>Epifanio V. Mata, 98, of Dickinson, passed away March 28, 2023 at his place of residence. </p><p>Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 4, 2023 at St. Mary of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church of Texas City. Burial will follow at Forest Park East.&nbsp; Visitation will be 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., Monday, April 3, 2023 with a rosary at 7:00 p.m., at Emken-Linton Funeral Home in Texas City. </p><p>Epifanio V. Mata was born April 7, 1924, in Villa De Guadalupe, Mexico.&nbsp; He was employed in Galveston for over ten years. Epifanio enjoyed watching soccer and was an avid Houston Astros fan. He loved playing cards with his mother-in-law and his family. </p><p>Survivors include his loving wife, Teresa Ortiz De Mata; his children, Felix Mata, Pablo Mata, Ester Rodriquez, Nico Jaurigue, Juan Jose Mata, and Tere Lara; 18 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren. </p><p>Pallbearers are Jose Orozco, Juan Orozco, Luis Orozco, Jose Mata, Juan Mata, Jr., and Samel Mata. </p>
