<p>Margaret Rose (Powers) Stewart </p><p>Big Bras d’Or </p><p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; It is with broken hearts and great sorrow that we, the family of Margaret, regretfully announce her passing on Sunday, March 26th, 2023, at the Northside General Hospital. </p><p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Born in Sydney Mines on January 11, 1947, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Jessie (Cann) Powers. </p><p>As a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she loved having family around. She enjoyed the family game of Romoli at her sister-in-law Paulette’s place and going to Bingo. She did beautiful plastic canvas, knitting, and enjoyed cooking, baking, and making preserves, and sharing them with everyone. </p><p>Margaret is survived by her loving daughter Valerie (Brian) Tobin, sons Joe, Gordie (Michele), Jimmy, and Russell, 10 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren, whom she loved dearly. She is also survived by sisters Dorothy, Eva, and Donna, her brother Charlie and 8 nephews and 7 nieces. </p><p>Besides her parents, Margaret was predeceased by her husband Gordie, sisters Rosie and Jessie, and brothers Cecil, David, and Dan, nephews, Danny and Joe, and niece, Wanda. </p><p>Donations in her memory may be made to the Northside Hospital Foundation. Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 1st&nbsp; 2023, from 10 - 11 am in J. M. Jobes Funeral Home, Sydney Mines. A celebration of her life will take place at 11 am in the funeral home.             It is with broken hearts and great sorrow that we, the family of Margaret, regretfully announce her passing on Sunday, March 26th, 2023, at the Northside General Hospital.

            Born in Sydney Mines on January 11, 1947, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Jessie (Cann) Powers.
