<p>SUMMERTON, SC – Michael Scott Golon, 61, died suddenly on Sunday, March 26, 2023, at McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence.</p><p><br></p><p>Born July 11, 1961, in Mineola, NY, he was a son of Barbara Anne Kollegger Golon and the late Stanley Michael Golon and a brother to the late Stanley “Chris” Golon. He was a graduate of CPHS in Carle Place, NY and received his bachelor’s degree in the Culinary Arts from Johnson and Wales University in Providence, RI. Michael was the retired executive chef at the Helmsley Park Lane Hotel in Manhattan, NYC. He was a member of Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church in Carle Place, NY and attended Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church in Manning, SC.</p><p><br></p><p>Surviving in addition to his mother of Summerton, SC are numerous cousins in New York.</p><p><br></p><p>Funeral mass will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, March 31, 2023, at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church in Manning, South Carolina with Father Antony Benjamine officiating.</p><p><br></p><p>The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral mass from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church in South Carolina.</p><p><br></p><p>Please join the family gathering at 4:30 p.m. Friday, March 31, 2023, following the funeral mass at Porter Jacks Grill, 505 S.
