<p>Carol Jean (Rittmueller) Galis, 76, of Marseilles, passed away on March 25, 2023 at her home surrounded by her loved ones.</p><p><br></p><p>Private services will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Mueller Funeral Home in Ottawa.</p><p><br></p><p>Carol was born on May 31, 1947 in Elmhurst to Harold and Marjorie (Tricker) Rittmueller. She grew up in Itasca and Glen Ellyn and graduated from Glenbard West High School. She worked as a florist for 10+ years and did interior design for many years. Carol married George Floyd Galis on June 8, 1968 at the Good Shepherd Church in Glendale Heights, IL. She enjoyed walking outside, enjoying the birds and her garden. Carol loved to travel with her husband and spoil her dog, Ellie.</p><p><br></p><p>She is survived by her three children, Heather (James) Leslie of Addison, IL, Gregory Galis of Naperville, IL, and Jeffrey Galis of Marseilles, IL, four grandchildren, Amelia, Noa, Asa, and Fiona; a brother, Michael Rittmueller; Jeff’s girlfriend, Jamie and her sons, Jonnie, Jake, and Jax; and many caring neighbors and friends.</p><p><br></p><p>She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, George Galis</p><p><br></p><p>Memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association, www.alz.org</p>Obituary
