<p>Jerry “Best Day” Ault, 75-year-old rural Vinita resident passed away on Friday, March 24, 2023, at St. Francis South in Tulsa. He was born on July 13, 1947, in Miami, Florida, to Aaron Jerome Ault and Foster Lucille (Bass) Ault. Jerry grew up in Florida, graduating high school there, then attended Georgia Tech, before going into the United States Navy in 1965, serving until 1968, during Vietnam. During his time in the Navy, Jerry piloted B-13 aircraft. He enjoyed his work for the Louisiana State Parks and Recreation, then later he worked for the Oklahoma State Department of Parks and Recreation, at Spavinaw Recreation Area. He worked alongside his wife Pam, at the park. He was married to Pamela Lois McAnally Ault on June 1, 2013, she preceded him in death on February 6, 2022. Jerry enjoyed crab fishing, camping, traveling, joking and having a good time with family and friends. He was active in several motorcycle clubs, including ABATE, Riders United for Children, COC of Oklahoma, and numerous other riding groups. He was very active in the Copperhead gatherings in Spavinaw. </p><p>He was preceded in death by his parents, and his loving wife, Pamela Lois McAnally-Ault in 2022.</p><p>The family includes his daughter Christina “Krissy” Wefer and husband Walter of Spavinaw, sons, Mark McAnally and Ashley Vonderheide of Tulsa, Jeffrey Bell and wife Krystal of Bella Vista, Arkansas, brother Jesse Nichols, and sister Dawn Nichols both of Jacksonville, Florida, grandchildren, Kate McAnally, Johnny McAnally, Addison Defres, Ellie McAnally, Jaron Ault, Kirk Ault, Parker Bell, Newt Bell, Skyla Thomas, and Cody Wefer, numerous great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends.</p><p>The celebration of life and Naval Honors will be held on Saturday, April 1, 2023, at 6:00 p.m. in the Burckhalter-Highsmith Chapel, Pastor Thomas Ballard will officiate. There will be a motorcycle escort from Big Cabin to the funeral home, starting at 5:00 p.m. at the Big Cabin Truck Plaza. Arrangements are in the care of the Burckhalter-Highsmith Funeral and Cremation Services of Vinita.</p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p><br></p>
