Thomas P. LaFazia Obituary

Thomas P. LaFazia, 84, passed away Wednesday, March 22, 2023. He was the beloved husband for 61 years to Claire J. (Webster) LaFazia. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Thomas D. “Tommy” and Mollie (Viti) LaFazia. Mr. LaFazia was a machine supervisor for Union Camp for 15 years and Brown Dairy for 10 years before retiring. He was a lifelong Johnston resident and enjoyed bowling and playing cards. He formerly owned and raced greyhound dogs at Lincoln Park. For several years he was a part time barber working with his father. He was a 1956 graduate of LaSalle Academy and a communicant of St. Rocco Church for many years. Mr. LaFazia loved going on family vacations and taking trips with his wife to Vegas, Hawaii and on cruises.


In addition to his wife Claire, he is survived by his children Denise M. Gianquitti (Kenny) of Johnston, Dennis T. LaFazia (Linda) of Cumberland and Dina M. Clark (Brian) of Johnston. He was the of brother Sharon Mills of Warwick and Arthur LaFazia of Warwick. He was the grandfather of 8 and great-grandfather of 9. He is also survived by many very close nieces and nephews and cousins.


Visitation will be held Monday, March 27, 2023 from 9-10am in the TUCKER-QUINN Funeral Chapel, 643 Putnam Pike, Greenville with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11am in St. Robert Bellarmine Church, Atwood Ave., Johnston. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Park Cemetery, Johnston. In lieu of flowers, donations to Tunnels to Towers Foundation, 2361 Hylan Boulevard, Staten Island, NY 10306, will be appreciated.
