Ila Louise Warren Obituary

Ila Louise Warren, 87, of Ottawa, passed away on Tuesday, March 21, 2023 at the Pavilion of Ottawa, surrounded by her family.


Funeral Services will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, March 25, 2023 at the Mueller Funeral Home in Ottawa, with Rev. Cherie Quillman, Pastor of Serena United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will follow at West Serena Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday, at the funeral home.


Ila was born on July 12, 1935 in Ottawa to Iva and Nora (Ott) Broadus. She graduated from Serena Grade School and High School. In 1953 she was a cheerleader for her husband’s Cinderella Basketball team. Ila received her D.A.R. good citizenship award in 1953 and belonged to several Bridge Clubs with her friends. She married Stuart Warren on November 18, 1956 at the Harding United Methodist Church. Ila taught Sunday School at the Harding Methodist Church, where she was the Superintendent, worked at the Ottawa Hospital as a volunteer Pink Lady, and was a member of the Moose Auxiliary. Ila was a housewife, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She enjoyed vacations to Mexico, Florida, Arizona, Hawaii, Alaska, and any place in the United States. Ila loved her family, her home, and her life on the farm.


She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Stuart; two sons, Brad (Monica) Warren and Mike (Lisa Killelea) Warren, all of Ottawa; grandsons, Clinton (Tamie) Warren of Andover, MN, Dennis (Jessica) Warren of Ottawa, and Korey Kromm of Los Angeles, CA. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Jackson Warren, Jordyn Warren, Lucy Warren, Lincoln Warren; sister-in-law Arden Dewey of Leland, IL; brother-in-law James Wise of Stockton, CA; and many nieces and nephews.


She was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters, a brother, and three siblings in infancy.


Pallbearers will be Brad, Mike, Clinton, and Dennis Warren, Larry Mustered, and Guy Larson. Honorary Pallbearers will be her great-grandchildren.


Memorials may be directed to the Shriners Hospital for Children or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
