Obituary
Asa Leonard Henline, 80, of Weston passed away unexpectedly in the comfort of his home on Wednesday, March 22, 2023.
He was born in Gaston on April 8, 1942, a son of the late Paul Bernard Henline and Edna V. Linger Henline.
On May 27, 1995, Asa married Barbara Ann Jackson and together they shared 35 wonderful years of marriage before her passing on September 10, 2020.
In addition to his parents and wife, Asa was preceded in death by two brothers: Gary Rogers Henline, and Russell Henline.
Forever cherishing their memories of Asa are two children: Asa “Len” Henline II and companion, Sandy Sanford, of Smithfield, VA, and Joyce Bell of Hampton, VA; four step-sons: Dennis, Brian, Steven, and Chris Jackson; six siblings: Jim Henline of Weston, Paul Henline and wife, Donna, of Fairmont, Rose Morgan of Buckhannon, Jo Ann Nottingham of Strange Creek, WV, Delphie Able and husband, John, of Florida, and Bernard Henline and wife, Cindy, of Jane Lew; and several nieces and nephews.
Asa spent several years as a carpenter for Local Union #396 in Newport News, VA, before retiring. Even after retirement, Asa could build anything you could dream of and he was always assisting his family with their building projects. Asa’s kind heart was evident to anyone he met, whether he was caring for his wife or assisting his neighbors. He would give you the shirt off his back if he felt you needed it. Asa was the most fantastic cook. His meatloaf and chicken and dumplings were some family favorites and he always made enough to share with them all. His kind and ornery nature will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Asa’s request for Cremation has been honored at Pat Boyle Funeral Home’s On-Site Crematory.
We, at Pat Boyle Funeral Home and Cremation Service located at 144 Hackers Creek Rd. in Jane Lew, are honored and privileged to serve the family of Asa Leonard Henline. Online condolences may be expressed at www.PatBoyleFuneralHome.com.
