Olga Roman

Olga Roman, 93, of Wilbur, born in Jerome, passed peacefully to her eternal home on March 20, 2023 at the Quality of Life at Westmont Woods facility. Olga was loved by all that knew her. She was particularly known for her incredible hospitality and generosity to her family and everyone she met.  She was cared for deeply by immediate family, friends, and granddaughters Sarah Barrett Ross (wife of Danny Ross), and Dominique Ross (wife of Matthew Ross). She was a devoted wife of 68 years to Frank E Roman, mother of Wanda (husband Dan Ross) and Francine (husband Kevin Walker), grandmother of 6: Jennifer DiSante (husband Walter), Michelle Ross (husband Gabe Sprenger), Danny Ross (wife Sarah), and Matthew Ross (wife Dominique), Ryan and Justin Walker. Great grandmother of 8: Ava and Vince DiSante; Saffron and Ruby Barrett Ross; Braden and Margot Ross; Jasper and Ruth Sprenger. Great-great grandmother of 1, Winter Sprenger.  She was an avid sports fan of the Pittsburgh Penguins, Steelers, and Ohio State football. Always smiling, always wanting to help, and always full of energy. She loved spending all of her time with her family and dedicated friend Kathy Custer, playing cards, bingo, Yahtzee, and watching sports. Olga is preceded in death by: parents Kathryn and Nick Szapka,  husband Frank, sister Julia Berkey, brothers Steve, Walter, John and Mike. The family wishes to express their deepest appreciation to the Westmont Woods facility for the exceptional care for the past 4 months and the Winder Hospice team for helping us through this difficult time. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Quality Life Services at Westmont Woods, Windber Hospice, or Olga’s lifelong church, Otterbein United Methodist Church in Wilbur. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Deaner Cremation Center, 976 Barn St., Hooversville. Viewing from 10 a.m. until service at 11 a.m. Monday at Otterbein U.M.
