Obituary

Harvey Morrison Talbot

March 26, 1942 – March 20, 2023

Harvey passed peacefully on Monday March 20th, 2023 with the support of his wife and children, all at his side. Beloved husband, for 53 years to Sheena Talbot. Loving father of Suzanne Culley and her husband Joe, Dave Talbot, and Lisa Tarvainen and her husband Dave. Dear grandfather of Ethan, Anrea, Ryan, Logan, Hannah, Nick, Lily and Catelyn.

Sadly missed brother of Gordon Talbot and his wife Penny and brother-in-law, Roderick “Rod” Grant and his wife Sonia.

Harvey retired from Ontario Hydro after 22 years and then went on, in the company of 2 partners, to operate MTJ Manufacturing Inc., a millwrighting service, for 16 years. He was an avid lawn bowler and curler. A cornerstone member of the Milton Lawn Bowling Club, Harvey served on the Board of Directors, most recently as Club Secretary. Beyond that, he was known to work around the club in just about any capacity that he could. There will be a Lawn Bowls Tournament in the summer to honour Harvey's considerable contribution to the club. He curled in Milton at the local club and in years past was very active in the Oakville Curling Club, where he also sat on their Board of Directors.

He loved to work with his hands and thoroughly enjoyed woodworking. He would create extremely detailed and complex doll houses. And, he enjoyed writing poetry. Mostly, he loved and cherished his family.

At Harvey’s personal request, cremation has taken place.

The family would like to invite friends to join them in a celebration of his life to be held at the Royal Canadian Legion, 21 Charles St. Milton, Monday March 27th, 2023, from 1pm - 3pm.

This is an informal gathering, and visitors are encouraged to wear colour.

As an expression of sympathy donations may be made to Cystic Fibrosis Canada (direct link below).
