Maggie Eno Obituary

The only advantage of dying from COPD, rhematoid arthritis and recurrent kidney stones is that you have time to write your own obituary. There are no other advantages other than you have a good brain devoid of Alzheimer's but a body that no longer wants to work at 89 years of age.

The last of four kids born in the middle of the depression, but not one to be depressed, left in the early morning hours of March 14, 2023. Always ready with a dirty joke or a one liner, I loved life. My family and my friends were my inspiration to go futher and do better. I loved the outdoors and laughter. I loved growing EVERYTHING which always mutated into something bigger and better than was expected. I loved spending every minute outside planting and planting and planting AND shopping the local nurseries as many times a week as possible. When I could no longer drive, my daughters, granddaughters and grandson-in-law would help me overcome that obstacle by shopping and delivering me flats and flats of beautiful flowers. My first born granddaughter alway said it looked like Mother Nature threw-up in my yard because it was so colorful, but too full of plants. I planted anywhere there was bare dirt as I loved how beautiful spring and summer would look after all the hardwork was over. Their beauty made me happier than any medicine could ever do - the planting and then the blooming - the flowers never competed with each other, they were harmonious in their beauty.

I was born in Ogden, Utah on December 16, 1933, in our home, a live birth without a birth certificate, at 463 Oak Street per the census data taken during my family's life at that address. From Ogden, I grew up in Carlin, Nevada as most families who's parent or parents worked on the Southern Pacific Railroad. From Carlin, I moved to Sparks enrolling in Robert Mitchell, Sparks Middle School and Sparks High School; the last, graduating with the class of 1951. Aside from working as soda jerk, telephone cord-board operator, and grocery clerk, I ended my working career as a legal secretary at a large law firm in Reno.

I was preceded in death by my parents, Edward "Blacky" Heagle and Ruth Ann Bremer Heagle. Older brothers Gene and Bob (always Frank to me) Heagle and older sister Kathryn Heagle Saxton; husband Edward "Ed" Eno, beloved dogs and cats (more than anyone generally have in a lifetime), but most particularly Ozzie my adorable and loving Yorkie. I am survived by my two adult daughters, Sheryl Herr and Brenda Eno (Harry Williams) - their children (my grandchildren) Kevin Herr (Amy), Tracey Hatley (Irik), Tiffiney Marshall (Tyler); their children (my great grandchildren) Lucas Herr, Paeri Block (Tyler), Aiden Hatley, Delanie Marshall, Allie Marshall; (my 5th generation great - great grandchildren) parents Paeri and Tyler, Adalynn "Rose" Darbyshire and Wesley Block; and never forgetting through the years, all my many, many - dear, dear friends.

Many thanks to Andrea at Geriatric Specialty, Michelle, Rita, Sandy, and Tristan at Renown Home Health for taking wonderful care of me and encouraging me on the days I felt so bad I wanted it all to end. Thank you does not seem appropriate enough for the smiles, tender care, kind words, and listening ear(s) you gave me - it means the world to me.

I was given the gift of life, and now I have to give it back. I am a lucky woman, leading a lucky life, and I am forever grateful. I decided to be joyful about having had a full life, living by the mottos "Everyday I live is a good day and Everything works out if you don't panic." Rather than being sad about having to die, I am at peace and ready to go. How precious my family has been to me. Knowing and loving each one of you was my success story. Walk in nature or in a nursery of flowers; hug your children and your pets and be joyful and not sad I am leaving - I hold you all in my memory and will see you on the other side.

PS: If I get to heaven and my pets aren't there to greet me as I have been promised in all my readings, I'm coming back MAD AS HELL!
