Robert Bruce Clendening Obituary

Mr. Robert Bruce Clendening, age 76, of Temple passed away on Wednesday, March 15, 2023. He was born in Jamestown, New York on Wednesday, July 24, 1946. Mr. Clendening was the son of the late, Robert A. Clendening and the late, Elizabeth (Shostrum) Clendening. In addition to his parents, Mr. Clendening is preceded in death by his brother, Bobby Clendening.

Mr. Clendening followed in his father’s footsteps and made his career as a Truck Driver, learning how to drive trucks at the age of 16. He later retired from Yellow Freight after many years of service. Mr. Clendening also served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed taking the time to fix and repair things, being outdoors, going fishing and hunting, and taking care of his pet dogs and birds.  Above all, Bruce loved his family, and he will be dearly missed. 

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 43 years, Patricia Ann (Edwards) Clendening of Temple; his children and their spouses, Ann Findlay of Woodstock, Cindy and Todd Spencer of Marietta, Jane and Patrick Fredericks of Marietta, Nick Ruiz of Brazil, Indiana, Andy and Patrick Ruiz of Atlanta, Leah and Chris Roper of Elberfeld, Indiana, and Maria Vanhooser of Temple; his sisters and brothers-in-law, Marsha Akin of Alabama, Gayle and James Cole of Mableton, and Nancy and Mike Jedaszewski of Alabama; his grandchildren, Zach, Meagan, Marc, Nicholas, Chelsea, Forrest, Clay, Chase, Blake, Alexis, Mary Kathryn, Emma, Lizzy Grace, Sean and Audrey; Mr. Clendening is also survived by many great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and a number of other relatives.

In accordance with Mr. Clendening wishes, he will be cremated.

The family will hold an Interment Service with Military Honors at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton on Monday, April 10, 2023 at 12:30 P.M.
