Ronald Julius Fedorowicz Obituary

Ronald J. Fedorowicz, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away on March 16, 2023 at 85 years of age. Born on May 30, 1937, to Mary and Julius Fedorowicz, Ronald was a devoted family man who was deeply loved and respected by all who knew him. He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Genevieve Mary Fedorowicz, their three children, Brian Fedorowicz, Cathy Garber, and Nancy Mayorga, as well as five grandchildren, Matthew Garber, Julia McMillan, Kaylan Garber, Susannah Mayorga, and three great-grandchildren, Kristopher Garber, Jade Garber, and Alex Garber. He is also survived by several nieces, cousins, and nephews. Ronald was predeceased by his parents and brother, Richard Fedorowicz.


Ronald's academic achievements were numerous, having graduated from St. Mary of Orchard Lake High School in Michigan with a college prep curriculum. During his time at St. Mary, he was very active, having played on both the football and baseball teams. He captained the baseball squad that competed for the Catholic City Baseball Championship and was an elected officer in the school choir. After graduating from St. Mary High School, Ronald earned a Bachelor's degree from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. Later in his career, he earned a Master's degree in Public  Administration from the University of Southern California.Ronald's career was marked by service and dedication to his community. He served as the Director of Personnel for The Hamtramck Civil Service Commission, during which he was an active member of the Rotary Club. Later, he held the position of Deputy Director of Personnel for the City of Hartford, Connecticut. For 27 years, he worked for the U.S. Office of Personnel Management in Washington, D.C. He was an active member of the International Personnel Management Association (IPMA) and was elected the President of the Washington, D.C. Chapter of IPMA, the President of the Eastern Region of IPMA, and the Eastern Region Representative to the International Council of IPMA. 


After retiring, Ronald and Genevieve moved to Durham, North Carolina, where they became members of St. Matthew's Catholic Church. Ronald continued his membership with the Knights of Columbus and enjoyed his membership and many friendships in the Treyburn Country Club and community. Ronald will always be remembered for his unwavering devotion to his family and his selfless dedication to his community. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.


Friends may call at St. Raphael Catholic Church, 1513 Dunster Rd, Rockville, MD 20854 on Saturday March 25, 2023 from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM where a Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11:00 AM. 


Interment will be private.


In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Ronald's name to St. Raphael Catholic Church.
