<p> Mrs. Karen Sue Thompson, 61 years of age of Taylor County passed away on Sunday, March 19, 2023 at her parent’s residence. She was born January 5, 1962 the daughter of Billy and Regina Hayes Williams. </p><p> She is survived by her husband Robert Earl Thompson II. They had celebrated 39 years of marriage. She is also survived by a son Jeremiah Thompson and his wife Eyon of Phoenix, AZ and their children Simone and Elana; a daughter Zandra Talkington of Fairmont, WV and her children Abby and Brooklyn; a brother Billy Williams Jr. and three sisters Penny Williams, Barb Williams and Brenda Glaspell.</p><p> Karen was a 1980 graduate of Flemington High School and then attended Glenville State College. She had a long working career that included West Virginia University Hospitals as an account adjuster. Along with her husband, they enjoyed traveling to Civil War reenactments. Their rendezvous sights included reenactments in the Midwest, Florida and the local rendezvous of the Appalachian Rangers. She portrayed being a frontier woman that handled the trade blankets. She participated in sporting activities of the 1800’s and became known as a talented knife and hawk thrower. </p><p> She looked forward to weekends and spending time with her mother visiting the local flee markets and searching out yard sales. What brought her the most joy was the love of her family and the four grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by family and friends.</p><p> A private service celebrating Karen’s life will be held at a later date. Condolences may be extended to the family at www.fordfuneralhomes.com. The Thompson family has entrusted the care and arrangements to the Ford Funeral Home, 215 East Main Street, Bridgeport, WV.</p><p><br></p><p><br></p>
