Thomas Michael Rose

<p>Rose, Thomas Michael passed away at VCU Medical Center on Saturday, February 25, 2023. He was born in Arlington, Va., on February 21, 1947, and grew up in Dayton, Ohio. Following graduation from the University of Dayton, he came to Richmond for employment at First and Merchants National Bank. He received an M.B.A. at Virginia Commonwealth University. After receiving his first pacemaker at VCU at the young age of 23, Tom saw every day as a gift and was always deeply indebted to his doctors at VCU for helping him to make it to age of 76. He felt fortunate and honored to be able to serve VCU as an employee for 35 years. Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Margaret Fitzpatrick Rose and Joseph S. Rose; brother, Joseph Rose; sister, Susan and his in-laws, Iva and Douglas Brannan. He is survived by his wife, Mary Ellen Brannan Rose; sister, Bonnie George (Fred); brothers, Charles Rose (Jenny) and John Rose, all of Dayton, Ohio; as well as brother-in-law, Dr. Melvin Brannan (Jeanette) of Powhatan. The family would like to thank the VCU Home Hospice team for their dedicated and steadfast support during his last days especially Susan, Latoya and Paul. Services were private.
