<p>James “Jim” Emerson Gibbons Jr., 89, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Friday, March 17, 2023 at Park Place Senior Living surrounded by his loving family. He was born on October 5, 1933 in Anderson, IN. He graduated from Wendell Wilkie High School in Elwood, IN. Jim married Jenean Longsworth on April 25, 1959. He was a veteran of the US Army during the Korean War. Jim was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church. Early in his career he was an Embalmer for D.O. McComb and Sons and he then worked for the Fort Wayne Drug Company. Jim retired from Votaw Electric. After retirement he enjoyed making corian crafts and selling them at craft bazaars, woodworking, and golfing. Jim’s favorite Bible verse was John 3:16. He was a devoted family man.</p><p><br></p><p>Jim is survived by his loving wife of nearly 64 years, Jenean; children, Lorie (Fred) Shultz of Fort Wayne and Matt (Denise) Gibbons of Leo; grandchildren, Nick Shultz, Leah (Nick) Bartkowiak, Sara (Gunner Brown) Gibbons, Tony (Holly) Andrachik and Alyssa (Mark) Chase; three great-grandchildren; sister, Kay Clary; and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by mother and step-father, Helen and Webb Morris.</p><p><br></p><p>Memorial service will be on Thursday, March 30, 2023 at Fairhaven Funeral Home and Cremation Services at 6:00 pm with visitation beginning at 4:00 pm until the time of service.</p><p><br></p><p>In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Messiah Lutheran Church Pastoral Fund.</p>
