Arthur W. Rockafellow, Jr.

<p>Arthur W. Rockafellow, Jr., age 79 years, of East Amwell Township, NJ, died Friday, March 17, 2023, at the Hunterdon Medical Center, Raritan Township, NJ.</p><p><br></p><p>Born in Somerville, NJ, January 17, 1944, son of the late Arthur Rockafellow, Sr. and Mary Vlearbone Rockafellow, he had resided in Hunterdon County all his life.</p><p><br></p><p>Art established Art’s Auto Service/ADR Towing, Inc., Flemington, NJ, in 1968 and retired in 2004.</p><p><br></p><p>Art was a life member of Flemington Elks Lodge #1928, the Ortley Beach Moose Lodge and the Garden State Towing Association. He also served with the NJ National Guard.</p><p><br></p><p>He enjoyed going on cruises, loved the Jersey Shore and deep-sea fishing and enjoyed keeping busy on his tractor on his property. He especially loved his grandchildren and meeting his friends at the Italian Bakery in Flemington, NJ.</p><p><br></p><p>In addition to his parents, he was pre-deceased by a brother, Harry Rockafellow, and two sisters, Ruth Rockafellow and Effie Jurgensen.</p><p><br></p><p>Surviving are his wife of fifty-six years, Sherry Lambert Rockafellow; his son and daughter-in-law, David and Christine Rockafellow of Flemington, NJ; three grandchildren, Tyler, Garrett and Megan Rockafellow; and two brothers, Philip Rockafellow of Williamsburg, VA and William Rockafellow of Milford, NJ.</p><p><br></p><p>Graveside services will be held Thursday, March 23, 2023, at 11:00 AM in Union Cemetery, Boss Road, Ringoes, NJ. Calling hours will be Wednesday March 22, 2023, 4:00 PM- 6:00 PM at the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ.</p><p><br></p><p>Memorial contributions may be made to the Amwell Valley Ambulance Corps, PO Box 147, Ringoes, NJ 08551.
