MOUNT HOREB - Hilda A. Oimoen, age 93, of Mount Horeb, passed away on Friday, March 17, 2023, at Ingleside Manor, after a brief illness.

She was born on July 5, 1929, the daughter of Henry and Helga (Haglund) Doescher.  Hilda attended grade school at Larsonville and graduated from Barneveld High School in 1947. On Aug. 20, 1948, Hilda married Lester Oimoen. She worked side-by-side with her husband on the Oimoen family dairy farm. Hilda loved being outdoors and milking her cows. She was a long-time member of Perry Lutheran Church. Hilda was also a Sons of Norway member. She was a tour guide at Little Norway, which she enjoyed thoroughly. Hilda also loved to dance and play shuffleboard, as she spent several winters in Florida.

She is survived by her children, Larry, Lana (Pete) Dyreson, Gary and David (Jackie); five grandchildren, Sateash, Holly, Devon, Danielle, and Tylor; three great-grandchildren, Justice, Elden and Emerson; nieces and nephews; great-nieces and nephews; and many great-great-nieces and nephews. Hilda was preceded in death by her husband, Lester in 1997; son, Jeffrey; and siblings, Harvey, Bernice, Wilbur, Alvin, Leo, Alice Mae, Sylvia and Doris.

A funeral service will be held at Perry Lutheran Church, 1057 WI-78, Daleyville, at 12 noon on Thursday, March 23, 2023, with Pastor Kelli Fisher presiding. Burial will be held at Perry Lutheran Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Thursday.
 

Memorials may be made in Hilda’s name to Perry Lutheran Church or Sons of Norway.
