<p>Mr. Ronnie Myers McCorkle, 87, of Concord, passed away on Saturday, March 18, 2023 at Transitional Health Care, surrounded by his family.</p><p><br></p><p>A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm, on Monday, March 20, 2023 at Wilkinson Funeral Home Chapel, with burial to follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends following the graveside service at the Carolina Memorial Park. Ronnie will lie in state from 1:00-1:45 pm prior to the service.</p><p><br></p><p>Ronnie was born on May 30, 1935 in Charlotte, NC to the late Ina Ruth Thompson McCorkle and Hugh Myers McCorkle. He is also preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, Freda Griffin McCorkle; grandson, Travis McCorkle</p><p><br></p><p>Ronnie had worked for many years as a security guard at different places including, Phillip Morris and Kirsch. He was a man who loved the great outdoors, from tinkering on his favorite lawn mower to working on his truck, he loved being outside. He was a people person who helped anyone he could at any time. He enjoyed spending time with his family and loved listening to the Nascar races every Sunday.</p><p><br></p><p>He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Virginia Fisher McCorkle; daughter, Cynthia M Cook and husband, Archie; son, Ronald Michael “Mike” McCorkle; sister, Ruth Richardson; grandchildren, Shane McCorkle and wife, Kelly, Justin Cook and wife, Brittany, Chanda Miller and husband, Justin, Michelle Frye and husband, Kevin; great-grandchildren, Alysa, Brittany, Tyler, Colten, Austin, Calleigh, Noah, Ella; great-great-grandson, Samuel; a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.</p><p><br></p><p>Memorials may be made to Hospice &amp; Palliative Care of Cabarrus County, 5003 Hospice Lane, Kannapolis, NC 28081.</p>
