Obituary

December 11, 1952 - March 15, 2023

70 Years

Min Friesen, beloved Mom, Grandma, Sister, Aunt, and Friend to many, passed away very suddenly, but peacefully at her home at Sunset Manor in Hague at the age of 70.

She was born to Henry & Annie Friesen on December 11, 1952, in Saskatoon. Her early years were spent living in the city, but at the age of 9, her family moved to the yard just east of this church. A few years later they moved to the farm ½ a mile north of the Village and for many years this was her home. She finished her first 8 grades at the Gruenthal Country School and grades 9 & 10 at Hague High School.

Our Mom was baptized upon confession of her faith in Jesus, by Bishop John D. Reddekopp in June of 1976. For most of her life, she lived in Hague, working hard to provide for us. She loved flowers and was already looking forward to going to the greenhouses to shop for plants. She had many beautiful pots of flowers in her yard each summer. She kept a meticulous home and yard, and she was a fantastic baker and cook. Her family was her most precious possession. She sacrificed daily to provide more for her family. Christmas was definitely her favorite holiday, decorating the house, baking everyone’s favorite’s and shopping more than the average, for her family. She adored her 3 grandchildren and communicated weekly through long phone conversations. She loved listening to music and really enjoyed the congregational singing in church.

She was predeceased by her parents and sister Joan. She leaves behind, for now, her son Jason (Toronto), her daughter Candace & Wayne Unrau (Airdrie) and her grandchildren Chanise, Shane, & Hunter; sister Eva; brothers Martin (Ruth), Andy (Trish), and Ray; brother-in-law Al Loeppky; and all her nieces and nephews.

She will live on in our memories always!!
