John Anthony Gilmore
<p>John Anthony Gilmore, age 54, of Sanford, passed away on Friday, March 17, 2023, at UNC Hospital after a lengthy illness. </p><p>He was born in Lee County to the late Harold Frankie Gilmore and Brenda Carol Gunter Gilmore. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an angel baby and two angel baby grandchildren. John worked many years in the sawmill industry prior to losing his eyesight. </p><p>He is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Carla; children, Percilla Carol Martinez (Miguel), Savannah Marie Gautier (Zachary), Haley Renee Mauldin (Jacob), Summer Grace Frankie Gilmore, Aaron Anthony Gilmore, Johnny Lee Gilmore (Stephanie), Jonathan Gilmore (Melinda) and Angel Proctor (Bradley); siblings, Harold Joseph Gilmore (Susie) and Frankie Renee Gilmore and eleven grandchildren. </p><p>“When I first met you, I knew you were the one, even though you could not see me. That is what made our love so pure. For 26 years, we held each other’s hearts. We made 6 beautiful babies, including the one with God now. Each one is a remembrance of you, that I will cherish every day. I know your soul is with us and you will guide the way until we meet again. We will love you every day.” </p><p>The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 22, 2023, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home. </p><p>A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 25, 2023, at 2:00 PM at Goldston Baptist Church located at 190 Church Street, Goldston, NC 27252. </p><p> </p>March 17, 202303/17/2023
