Ronald Fredrick Sergeant

<p>Ronald Fredrick Sergeant passed away Thursday, March 16th, 2023, at Kate B. Reynolds surrounded by his loving family. He was born February 13th, 1935 in Princeton, Illinois to the late Harold and Sadie Sergeant.</p><p><br></p><p></p><p>Ronald graduated from Princeton High School and later went on to graduate from Eureka College, both in Illinois. After college he joined the United States Air Force where he served our country in the Korean War. Upon leaving the military he began his career in the automotive industry. He retired from Firestone after 37 years of service. Ronald was a devout Christian and longtime member of Old Town Baptist Church.</p><p><br></p><p>He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Joyce Sergeant. In addition to his wife he is survived by his three children Mike Sergeant, Vicki Maxey, and Ronda Francis; five grandchildren Nick Moser, Stephen Sergeant, Chris Moser, Ian Francis, and Alexander Francis; five great-grandchildren Ben Moser, Michael Sergeant, James Moser, Molly Moser, and Nate Moser; six siblings Sandra, Doug, Donna, Denny, Janet, and Judy.</p><p><br></p><p>A funeral service for Mr. Sergeant will be at Old Town Baptist Church at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, March 23rd. The family will welcome friends one hour prior to the service at the church.&nbsp;</p><p><br></p><p>The burial will be on Friday, March 24th at 1:00 P.M. on the Boswell family farm with Military Rites. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Trellis Supportive Care. Online condolences may be made at www.salemfh.com.</p><p><br></p>
