Brenda G. Hutchens Harrelson, 75, of Whitsett, NC, passed away peacefully Thursday evening, March 16th, 2023 at her home on the land where she was born and raised, surrounded by her loving family. 

Brenda was the youngest of eleven children born to the late Bill and Pearlie Hutchens. She was a very cheerful, loving person who loved spending time with her family. Brenda was an amazing cook, who always cooked with love and made the best chicken and dumplings, and banana pudding. Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas were always celebrated at Brenda’s house with lots of food, love, and laughter. 

She is survived by her son, Frank Harrelson (Kathy) of Greensboro; daughter Wendy Warren of Reidsville; sisters Barbara Fox and Hazel Robert’s; six grandchildren, Darin Bailiff (Kelly), Amber Whitenack (Mike), Steven Nelson (Anna), Stephanie Nelson (Steve Hand), Ashlyn Miller (Tucker) and Sierra Harrelson (Tyler Leinbach); six great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Brenda’s son, Frank and her granddaughter, Stephanie, aka sunshine, held a very special place in her heart. They both took exceptional care of Brenda.

After 35 years working third shift, so she could take care of her family, Brenda retired from Elastic Fabrics of America.

The family will receive friends from 1-1:45pm Monday at George Brothers Funeral home prior to the service. The funeral will be at 2:00pm Monday, March 20th, 2023 with Pastor Terry Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeview Memorial Park.
