Gary Bevills had a humble beginning growing up in the small farming town of Dyes where he graduated high school in 1964 and was well known for his participation on the school basketball team. This small-town boy had an innate drive and always knew everything was possible. Upon graduating he approached his father with a plan to expand the farming operations, but despite his passions was turned down by his father. At that moment he knew that he had to leave his home and worked all summer picking cotton to get enough money to take a bus to Chicago, IL.

A year after he left Arkansas he was working part time in a toy department where he met the love of his life Linda Bland, and married her in 1967 and they were together nearly 56 years. In the same year he started his career path at Holland Company. Gary started out at Holland as field worker, but his passion and dedication resulted in several promotions in operations until 1985 when he went into sales.

Gary always liked to be challenged, and despite knowing nothing about sales, he put in the time to learn everything he could because failure never was an option. It was his background in operations which provided him an advantage over his peers in sales because he not only was able to sell a product but when a customer was faced with delay Gary had the knowledge required go on site and make sure that it was fixed. He enlisted his wife Linda to be his partner in this new journey, so they were able to travel together, meet with customers, and built an extended customer family which they have contact with till today. It was Gary’s position in sales that allowed him to obtain a pilot’s license, and purchase a small plane that this sales team used to travel the country to meet with customers.

Gary always said that his success was a result of divine intervention, and a random series of events resulted in him becoming part owner, and CEO of Ribbon Weld in 1997. Despite being a small company in 1997 this humble man had a vision, and strong determination which resulted in growing the company from a single plant location to a multi-unit mobile welding force in the market until he sold in 2012.

It was this success that brought him to Spring Hill, Florida where he was able to spend time with family, and take an active role in his church. In addition, Gary had a love of golf, and he was able to play 5 days a week until 2019 when faced with several physical challenges which prevented him from playing any further. Despite these challenges, he always found a way to be active in his community, to take his wife on life changing locations around the world, and become more involved with his church family.

This small-town farm boy decided in 2022 that his life was not over despite being in great pain, and often struggled to walk so he went back to roots and bought a small farm where he planned to raise live stock. Gary would wake up daily and go out to “THE FARM” where he worked daily to prepare the property for his next project, often with the help of his wife, and church family until he took ill in Jan/23. It was his belief that it is not what happens to you, but what you do with what happens to you when faced with adversity is what defines your life.
