Robert D. Swartz, 59, of Fostoria passed away at his home 4:03 a.m., Thursday, March 16, 2023.

He was born June 7, 1963 in Upper Sandusky to Boyd Jon and Edith (Skipper) Swartz Sr. Robert married Vicki Thomas in 1981and they later divorced. He then married Robin Daughenbaugh in 2001, and they too divorced in 2010. Both survive him along with his daughter, Bobbi (Alex) DeLaRosa, of Holland; siblings, Teresa Shimberg, of Lake Wales, Fl, Rick (Lisa) Swartz, of Garrett, IN, Beverly (Bernie) Snyder, of Lima, Sarah Smith, of Fostoria, Barbara (Tony) Corfman, of McCutchenville, Carolyn Ferguson, of Fostoria, Brian Swartz, of Fostoria and Rocky Swartz, of Fostoria; four grandchildren, Joseph, Terrence “CJ”, Aneeyah and Reniyah (“double and trouble”.) He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Boyd Swartz, step-son, Michael Kreais Jr and significant other, Diane Miller.

Robert served in the U.S. Army stationed in Ft. Hood, Texas and in Germany where he was a motor transport operator. He worked for Norton Manufacturing/NSI Crankshaft for 20 years where he served as a machine operator. It was during this time that he received his certificate in Productive Maintenance from Terra Community College.

In his leisure Robert enjoyed riding his pride-and-joy Harley, holidays, and spending time with his family.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. on Monday, March 20, 2023 at MANN-HARE-HOENING Funeral Home, 407 N. Countyline St, Fostoria. Funeral services will begin in the funeral home at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow in Fountain Cemetery with military honors provided by the Fostoria United Veterans.
