<p>Glenn David Withers, 74, of Cost, TX, died at home Tuesday, March 14, 2023. David, or “D” to his grandchildren, was born May 4, 1948 in Lancaster, South Carolina to Samuel Glenn Withers and Ethel Lorene Ross Withers. He came to Texas in 1966 to attend Texas A &amp; I University in Kingsville. There he met Sue Hindman, now his wife of 53 years. David had a degree from A &amp; I in Agriculture and spent his working life in that field.</p><p><br></p><p>David is survived by his loving family, wife, Sue, daughter, Amanda Vega (Joe) of Georgetown, son, Dr. John Withers (Amber) of Cost, brother, Dean Withers (Janel) of Rock Hill, SC, grandchildren, Nathan Withers, Caroline Griffis, Seth Vega, Madeleine Vega, Wyatt Withers, and Joni Withers and great-grandchildren Brock Wynn and Jackson Withers. He was preceded in death by his parents.</p><p><br></p><p>The family will receive friends from 2 pm – 3 pm Sunday, March 19, 2023 in the Gonzales First Baptist Church with a memorial service following at 3 pm with Dr. Josh Breslaw officiating. Honorary pallbearers: Ross and Clare Jane Hendershot, Frank and Suzanne Benes, Greg and Debbie Tieken, John and Susie Barfield, Skipper and Priscilla Irle, Byron and Julie Lester, and James and Mona Lassig. In lieu of usual remembrances, friends may make memorials to the First Baptist Church Building Fund, the Alzheimer’s Association or to the charity of one’s choice. Friends may leave their condolences to the family by visiting www.seydlerhillfuneralhomecom. Services are under the care and direction of Seydler-Hill Funeral Home.</p>
