<p>Evelyn Mitchell, 94, of Qualicum Beach, passed away peacefully March 8th, at Stanford Place, Parksville. </p><p>Evelyn was born March 13th, 1928, at Mrs. Wilson’s Nursing Home in French Creek to Maudie and Fred Bagnall. She attended grades 1 through 12 in Qualicum Beach, all held in what is now The Old Schoolhouse Arts Centre. She was valedictorian of her graduating class of 6 students in 1945. </p><p>She worked at Mills General Store all her teenage years and loved her job. She was always active in Qualicum Beach, enjoying her involvement with PTA, Evening circle, square dancing, curling, bowling, and using her art and calligraphy skills to create special documents and posters for her community. </p><p>Evelyn married Earle Mitchell May 1st, 1948. They built their home together on Rye Road where they lived their entire marriage. They planted a large vegetable garden every year and enjoyed fishing in their small boat. Other times they could be found crafting together, Evelyn sewing and Earle creating stained glass and wooden items. </p><p>Evelyn was predeceased by her parents, her brother Bob, her husband Earle, and son Brian. She is survived by her children Maia (Mitch), Sherry (Warren), and Blair (Linda), as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. </p>

Evelyn Mitchell, 94, of Qualicum Beach, passed away peacefully March 8th, at Stanford Place, Parksville.

Evelyn was born March 13th, 1928, at Mrs. Wilson’s Nursing Home in French Creek to Maudie and Fred Bagnall. She attended grades 1 through 12 in Qualicum Beach, all held in what is now The Old Schoolhouse Arts Centre. She was valedictorian of her graduating class of 6 students in 1945.
