Prentiss Covington, Sr.

<p>Prentiss Covington, Sr. was born in Bennettsville, South Carolina on August 7,1946. He was the son of Ella Jane Simmons Collins and the late Prentiss Covington. He was educated in the public schools of Marlboro County, South Carolina. He accepted Christ as his Savior and was a faithful member of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church in Bennettsville, SC. Later in life he moved to New York where he worked for over 40 years at the Federal Reserve National Bank as a Computer Engineer. After retirement he relocated back home to Bennettsville and took great care of his mother. He also resumed his attendance at Macedonia. His marriage was to the late Gayleen Glover Covington and they were blessed with one son, Prentiss, Jr.&nbsp; On March 14, 2023 while in Indian Land, SC, Prentiss Covington, Sr, departed this life at the home of his devoted son, Prentiss, Jr. He leaves to cherish his loving memories, but not limited to: his son; his mother, Ella Jane Collins; his grandson, Prentiss Covington, III; his siblings: Yvonne and Veronica Dixon and John Covington, other close relatives and friends who will miss him dearly.
