<p>Donald Blaine Tasker, 73, of Oakland, MD, passed away on Thursday, March 16, 2023, at Garrett Regional Medical Center.</p><p><br></p><p>Born July 3, 1949, he was the son the late of Russell Lloyd and Wilda Rosalee (Cooper) Tasker. He is also preceded in death by his first wife, Edith Virginia Baker; second wife, Ella Darlene Tranum; eight brothers, Webster, Leon, Richard, Kenny, Alan “Blow”, Cecil “Gravy”, Charles “Yogi”, and Roger Tasker, and three sisters, Rosalee, Barb, and Juanita “Myrt”.</p><p><br></p><p>Donald worked for Mettiki Coal as a miner for 33 years before his retirement. He also served in the US Army during the Vietnam War and received the rank of Specialist 4 (SP4). He enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, and spending time with his family and friends.</p><p><br></p><p>He is survived by two daughters, Melissa Connelly &amp; Mills and Kristy Sisler &amp; Randy; one step-son, Charles Roberts; two step-daughters, Toni and Jennifer Long; one sister, Betty Sweitzer; three grandchildren, Taylorann Simpson &amp; Joshua, Blaine Sisler, and Troy Bryant; two great-grandchildren, Zoe and Zane Simpson; and numerous step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.</p><p><br></p><p>Friends will be received at Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 1100 Memorial Drive, Oakland, MD, on Friday, March 17, 2023, from 6:00pm-8:00pm and on Saturday, March 18, 2023 from 2:00pm-4:00pm. A funeral service at will follow at 4:00pm on Saturday, March, 18, 2023, in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Barbara Rexrode officiating. A dinner will be held afterward in the banquet hall of the funeral home. Per Donald’s request, he will be cremated. </p><p><br></p><p>Expressions of sympathy made be made to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD 21741.</p><p><br></p><p>Condolences may be sent to the family on newmanfuneralhomes.com. </p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p><br></p>
