<p>Funeral services for Mary Ellen Allen Hicks, 79, of Reynolds will be held on Saturday, March 18, 2023, at 11:00 am at Butler United Methodist Church.&nbsp; Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.&nbsp; Burial will follow in Hicks Family Cemetery.&nbsp; Mrs. Allen passed away on Wednesday, March 15, 2023.&nbsp; She was a lifelong member of the Butler United Methodist Church.&nbsp; She was a graduate of Butler High School and the University of Georgia.&nbsp; She was manager of the Polk County Association for Handicapped Citizens which provided life skills for handicapped adults and later worked as a travel agent.&nbsp; She loved her family and was a great mom. </p><p>She was preceded in death by her parents, Heyward Edwin Allen, Sr. and Jessie Heath Allen; three siblings, Barbara Broach, Emily Montgomery and Richard Allen; and her husband, Harry Ellison Hicks. </p><p>Survivors include two sons, Russell Hicks (Kristen) of Athens and Richard Hicks of Reynolds; two brothers, Heyward Edwin Allen, Jr. (Betty) and Archibald Eugene “Archie’ Allen (Elsie) of Butler; one grandson, David Hicks of Tampa, FL; many nieces and nephews also survive. </p><p>You may sign the online guest register at www.mcleightonfuneralservice.com </p><p>McLeighton Funeral Service of Butler is in charge of arrangements. </p>
