Bob W. Adkins
<p>Services for Mr. Bob W. Adkins, 91, of Grand Saline, are scheduled for 10 a.m., Saturday, March 18, 2023, at Bartley Funeral Home, with Len Teague officiating.</p><p><br></p><p>Interment will be in Woodside Cemetery.</p><p><br></p><p>Mr. Adkins passed away March 15, 2023, at his home in Grand Saline. He was born June 23, 1931, in Van Zandt County (Bug Tussle Community), to Jule & Gertrude Riggs Adkins. He graduated from Grand Saline High School, Class of 1950 and was a member of Grand Saline Church of Christ. He worked for Ford Motor Co. Assembly Plant on East Grande in Dallas and for T&P Railroad. Bob was also a meat salesman for Porter Adkins and later owned & operated Adkins Meat Company for 24 years. He has been retired since 1980. Bob is preceded in death by his parents; two wives, Bobbie Burns Adkins, and LaMerle Skinner Adkins; son, Dick Edward Adkins; two brothers, Porter Adkins and Truman Adkins; and sister, Joyce Adkins Sloan.</p><p><br></p><p>Survivors include his son, Nick Adkins and wife Debbie of Grand Saline; daughter-in-law, Faye Adkins Melton of Grand Saline; longtime friend & companion, Fern Henley Brooks of Forney; four grandchildren, Josh, Amber, Jeff & Chad Adkins; four great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.</p><p><br></p><p>Pallbearers will be Clay Waymire, Sergio Rubio, Ben Sloan, Carlos Agular, Mike Burns, Dennis Tucker, Jeff Adkins, Josh Adkins, Doug Reid, and David Reid.</p><p><br></p><p>The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m., Friday, March 17, 2023, at the funeral home. </p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p><br></p>June 23, 1931 - March 15, 202306/23/193103/15/2023
