Jonathan Benitez

Visitation for Jonathan Benitez, 31 of Kilgore will be held on Saturday, March 18, 2023, from six until eight o’clock in the evening at Rader Funeral Home in Kilgore. Jonathan completed his earthly journey on Friday, March 10, 2023, at his home in Kilgore.

Jonathan was born on March 1, 1992, in Longview, Texas, to Mary Meadows and Crescencio Benitez. He attended Gary Independent School district in his youth. Jonathan was a welder by trade and worked at many local shops. He was his family’s go-to handyman; he enjoyed tinkering on his truck and motorcycle. He married the love of his life Bailey, and they shared eight joyful years of marriage together. Jonathan was a loving father he adored his children; they were his source of strength and happiness. He loved to spend time outdoors. Jonathan’s hobbies included riding horses, fishing, camping, listening to music and playing pool. One of Jonathan’s favorite activities was going out to dinner at Shogun Shushi and Hibachi Grill with his family. He was a beloved husband, son, father, brother, and friend. Jonathan will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife Bailey Marcum Benitez, mother Mary Meadows, father Crescencio Benitez, daughters Grace Marcum and Harmony Benitez of Kilgore, sons Jacob Winters and Josh Winters of Kilgore, brothers Nick Benitez and partner Braelynn Hanes of Longview, Chris Benitez and wife Rhoushanda Cartnage, and Logan McDaniel of Gary, Texas, sisters Rachell Long of Gary, Texas, and Leslie Wier of Logansport, LA, grandmother Linda McDaniel of Gary, Texas, uncle James Meadows of White Oak, aunts Sandra Jaimes of Longview, and Teri Valenzuela of Longview, and numerous nieces, nephews, and other loving friends and family members.

Jonathan was reunited with his grandparents James and Nelita Meadows, grandfather Jack McDaniel, uncle Lawrence Meadows, and aunt Paula Hillman.
