Eleanor Jean Hunter Davis, 86, of Wheeling, WV, passed away on Wednesday, March 15, 2023 at Continuous Care Center in Wheeling Hospital.

She was born March 9, 1937, in Clarksburg, WV, daughter of the late Paul Sr. and Genevieve Scott Hunter.

Eleanor was a retired nurse’s aide at Good Shepherd Nursing Home, Wheeling, WV, and a Baptist with a true faith in God.

She loved her husband and was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was the family encourager and entertainer at gatherings. She never had a bad thing to say about anyone or anyone about her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold D. Davis, Sr. in 2003; 8 brothers, Coy, Paul Jr., Charles, Frank, Bob, Richard, John & Jim Hunter; twin sister, Ellen Davis; sister, Martha Moore; son, Donnie Davis; daughter, Debra Minch; grandson, Brian Michael Hostutler; 2 great-grandsons, Logan Charles Minch & Gauge Lee Murrin; and son-in-law, Ron Bence.

Eleanor is survived by son, Harold "Buddy" (Karen) Davis; 5 daughters, Edie (Chuck) Minch, Linda Gaus, Jackie Bence, Janice (Brian Richardson) King & Patty (Kenny) Wallace; daughter-in-law, Kim Forney; sister, Maxine Phipps; several grandchildren & great-grandchildren; and many nieces & nephews.

Friends will be received on Saturday, March 18, 2023 from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 1:00 PM at Kepner Funeral Homes, 166 Kruger Street, Wheeling, WV (#304-242-2311) with Reverend Margie Carr officiating. Interment will follow in Park View Memorial Gardens.
