Legerski</p><p>(nee Cresto)</p><p><br></p><p>Age 84, of Crest Hill, IL passed away peacefully, Tuesday morning, March 14, 2023.</p><p><br></p><p>Joanne was born October 23, 1938 to the late Angeline (nee Ciarletta) and Frank Cresto in Joliet where she was raised and educated, a graduate of Providence Catholic High School.</p><p><br></p><p>Joanne is the beloved mother of Donald D., Ronald E., David A., and Mark A. (Stacy) Legerski; loving grandmother of David Legerski, Jr., Kristy Legerski and Bobby (Marta) Snow. Also surviving are her sister, Mary (Joe) Babich, sister-in-law, Margie Cresto as well as several nieces and nephews.</p><p><br></p><p>Preceded in death by her husband, Donald in 2006; her parents; brother, Ronald Cresto; grandson, Devin Snow; and dear family friend, Cheryl Sterle.</p><p><br></p><p>Joanne truly lived her faith every day. She was a devout Catholic and an active member of St. Anne Church in Crest Hill, where she was a member of the CCW and a former Woman of the Year. She attended daily mass and recited the rosary daily. She always said, “You pray for me, I’ll pray for you.” She volunteered often at her parish and for many local causes, including the Food Pantry at St. Anne’s and Birthright.</p><p><br></p><p>Joanne retired from the City of Crest Hill after 25 years of service. She was also an Election Judge for Crest Hill and an officer for AARP.</p><p><br></p><p>Joanne was a member of Our Lady of Angels Auxiliary, Rivals Club Auxiliary, Slovenian Woman’s Union, American Italian Club, and Will County Senior Citizens.</p><p><br></p><p>For 25 years, you would find Joanne volunteering at the Rialto Theatre ushering and greeting all with a friendly hello and her warm smile.</p><p><br></p><p>Visitation for Joanne Legerski will be Friday, March 17, 2023 from 8:30am until prayers begin at 10:15 a.m at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd. (at Essington Rd.), Joliet. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 a.m. at St. Mary Nativity Catholic Church, 706 N. Broadway Street in Joliet.
