Carol June Yogerst

<p>With a heavy heart, we announce the passing of Carol June Yogerst, age 79, on March 12, 2023, at her home in Hortonville, after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease. Carol would have celebrated her 80th birthday in just one months time. Born on April 11, 1943, in Tennessee, Carol was the daughter of the late Floyd and Mary Cleek. She attended the Tennessee Preparatory School through the ninth grade before moving around and eventually settling in Montana, where she found solace in the breathtaking mountain views. In 1974, Carol moved to Wisconsin, where she married Donald. Together they shared 34 years of marriage before his passing in 2009. Throughout her life, Carol held many different jobs and always enjoyed sharing her unique experiences. Cooking and baking were passions of hers, and she loved spending time in the kitchen with Donald, canning the fruits and vegetables he grew in their garden. Carol also enjoyed exploring thrift stores, watching wildlife in the woods outside her home, and supporting her son's musical endeavors as a drummer. </p><p>Carol is survived by her two sons, Brian (Rachael) Yogerst of Hortonville and David (Jodi) Schaffer of Anaconda, MT; four grandchildren, Thomas, Evan, and Addison Yogerst, and Austin Schaffer; her brother, Floyd "Bud" (Betty) Cleek; two brothers-in-law, Norman (Judy) Yogerst and Sylvester "Jack" Yogerst; one sister-in-law, Joan Malone; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. </p><p>Carol was preceded in death by her infant son, Scott Yogerst; two sisters, Linda Cleek and Judy Cleek; one brother-in-law, Dennis Malone; and one sister-in-law, Jeanette Yogerst. </p><p>Funeral services will be held at Valley Funeral Home Greenville, N1858 Greenville Drive, Greenville, at 4:00 pm on Sunday, March 19, 2023; Fr. Bill Swichtenberg officiating. A visitation will be held at the funeral home from 2:00 pm until the start of the service. Carol will be laid to rest in Stephenville Cemetery. </p><p>In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in her name to Fox Valley Memory Project. </p>
