Patricia F Lorenzetti Obituary

Patricia Lorenzetti passed away peacefully at home on March 13, 2023, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born on December 22, 1933 to John and Suzanne Fotta in Hazelton, Pennsylvania. She resided in Manville, New Jersey, and graduated from Dunellen High School.

Patricia married the love of her life, William Lorenzetti in 1952, having met him at age 15. They raised their 4 children in a loving home in Hillsborough. It was a life of family, friendships and faith.

Her greatest joy was being a wife, mother and homemaker. She loved creating special family moments and passing on family traditions. Especially cherished moments included teaching her granddaughters to make Easter bread, attending sport and school events of her children and grandchildren, and annual summer vacations with her Florida grandchildren. Through all of her involvement with her family, and especially her grandchildren, she took every opportunity to offer wisdom and guidance, teaching through example what it is to be a kind-hearted, insightful, compassionate, hard-working, strong, resilient and loving person.

Although she would never bring attention to herself in discussing it, she was a true hero. In the early 1960’s, while she was only in her 20’s, she saved the life of her next-door neighbor, John. John drove a tractor trailer and was working in his back yard on the cab of the truck when it burst into flames. She was outside hanging laundry and heard his cries as his clothes caught on fire. She ran to him and was able to get him onto the ground and get the flames out. He was severely burned and hospitalized for over three months, but survived because of her courage and quick actions.

Patricia was a medical secretary for over 25 years at Somerset Medical Center. She was very proud of her work as unit secretary on the telemetry unit and loved to take the new Interns under her wings, encouraging and supporting them.

She was a communicant of Mary, Mother of God Church for over 60 years, where she was a member of the Rosary Society and Circle of Friends. She and William enjoyed many years as members of the Hillsborough Senior Citizens, Chapter B, and greatly enjoyed many travels with this group of wonderful friends throughout the US and abroad.

Patricia is predeceased by her beloved husband William and their son Kenneth. She is survived by son David Lorenzetti and daughters Anita (Robert) Ciano Jr and Doreen Lorenzetti. She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren, Carissa Welsh, Joseph Lorenzetti, Marie Davis, Nicole (Mark) Yuhas, Stacy Lorenzetti, Tara Lorenzetti, Robert (Vera) Ciano III, Heather (Dan) Ford, Dustin Ciano, Christopher (fiancé Stephanie)Harris, Jonathan (Kyoka) Harris and Cheyanna Harris. She is also survived by 7 cherished great grandchildren: Ronen, Kiera, Natalie, Lucas, Claudia, Cecily and Miles and her sister and brother in law, Evelyn and William Appenzeller, as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews. Heartfelt thanks is extended to her loving caregivers, Megi and Anna, and to the caring staff of Community Care Hospice.

In lieu of flowers, Donations may be made to JDRF, the Juvenile Diabetes Research Fund, JDRF.org
