Howard Cecil Caldwell

1936-2023

Howard Cecil Caldwell, age 86, of Catlettsburg, KY, passed gently away on March 14th, 2023, wrapped in the love of his family.

Howard was born on a beautiful Kentucky day on May 7th, 1936. He was the blessing of the late Cecil Edward and Helen Blake Caldwell. He was a graduate of Boyd County High School and worked as a Teamster at Air Products. One of his proudest work achievements was driving over 1 million miles with no accidents. Howard was a devoted Christian man. He Pastored both Mavity Freewill Baptist and Laurel Gap Church. He loved his family dearly and loved to Farm. He was a sweet soul and will be missed by all who knew and loved him. They will cherish the time they got to spend with him and hold tight to their memories.

Howard leaves behind his four loving children Debra Gilbert and her Husband David of Somerset, KY, William Caldwell and his wife Gerri of Catlettsburg, KY, Shirley Jenkins and her husband Cal of Proctorville, OH, and Mark Caldwell and his wife Lisa of Huntingon, West Virginia; twelve precious grandchildren; Melissa “Missi”, Angela, Allison, Kristy, Chrissa, Emilee, Starr, Michael, Mark, Dustin, Kyle Brandon, Tyler, and Christoper; 15 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren; two brothers William Caldwell of Louisiana and George Caldwell and his wife Kathy of Catlettsburg, KY; and one sister Diana Blanton and her husband Ted of Florida. Also surviving are many extended family members and friends.

In addition to his parents, Howard is preceded in death by his wife of over 50 years Emily Arnett Caldwell, one sister Linda Caldwell and one sister-in-law Bonnie Caldwell.

A funeral service to honor the life of Howard will be held Thursday, March 16th, 2023 at Neal Funeral Home, located at 2409 Center Street, Catlettsburg, beginning at 12pm with Pastor JC Caudill and Dale Henson officiating. Visitation for family and friends will be held prior to the service from 11am to 12pm. Howard will be laid to rest following the service at Ross Cemetery.
